Do You Need More Than Files? Part 2
Well, hello there! It’s me, your friendly Austin photographer! Welcome back to this quick two part blog series that explores photo packages that include only digital files versus those that offer custom printed artwork. Last week, we took a look at why digital files are a great thing to have from your family photo session (being able to easily share photos with friends and family across the globe). We also saw a few pitfalls with receiving only the digital files from your session (carving out time to go through every photo and order prints on your own). Let’s take a look at the flip side of the coin and talk about custom art prints.
It can be tough going through the files on your own and ordering your own products. And what if after all of that time, your prints come back and they just look…off? You’re left to either take even more time reordering something you expected to be done right the first time, or you just settle for what you got.
Three days after your session, we’ll get together and you’ll get to see all of your gorgeous photos we created. Going through these together means you won’t have to go through the time sucking guessing game of ordering prints yourself. I’ll guide you through your photo options, and help you choose the right print products to display in your home! Even better, since I have access to professional printing labs, you can rest easy knowing you’ll get beautiful, timeless photos that will last for years!
“But aren’t custom print products expensive?” It’s true that custom art products are a bit of an investment. But think about how you’ll feel when you walk up your stairs to put your little ones to sleep and you see your memories lined up along the wall. Now think about those same photos being on your walls when you walk down to pack your car up to take them to college. Having those memories to look at daily really is such a gift.
“But we don’t only want prints. We really do want digital files to share with friends and family! So, what do we do?” I hear you! That’s why I offer the best of both worlds: Collection options that give digital files AND credits toward custom printed art products of your choice. These credits act as a gift card that you can use to make your print purchase through your online gallery. You really can have your cake and eat it, too, because you can order your art products without the pressure of spending more than your budget. I’ve found this to be the best way to have your photos live off of your computer, and on your walls while still being able to share them world wide.
But I wanna hear from you! Which do you value more? Digital Files or Custom Art? Hit up the comments and let me know!
Well, that’s it for this small series looking at digital files versus custom printed artwork! They both have their pros & cons, so the most important thing is to choose what’s right for you and your family. I hope you enjoyed it, and reach out with your thoughts!
